I realize it's almost the end of January already but I think it's still OK to say Happy New Year for the whole month. Hope your holidays were magical and blessed with the spirit of the season. Casa Youngblood has been buzzing with new projects and I'm happy to say that none of them are major. I don't get to see them nearly as often as I would like, but when I do visit, I cherish every moment. This past trip was no exception. My grandma is 97 and my grandpa is turning 82 this week. China Hutch Sneak PeekSo, last weekend I tried milk paint for the first time on a china hutch that I bought for my bathroom. As for the results, I'm really happy with the way it all turned out. I used the driftwood on the back and pitch black on the rest of the cabinet. The only issue I ran into was the paint kept clumping. You have to stir it frequently and well. I'm about to use it for the first time this weekend on a big piece of furniture. I bought three colors: Snow White, Pitch Black and Driftwood. I'm thinking of starting with the black and diluting it just a little with the snow white so it's not pitch black but more of a faded black. So, what is this *Tarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06555699373167712930noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8108952495683594971.post-29755059780819064342012-08-10T14:21:00.002-05:002012-08-10T14:21:54.634-05:00An update and other business....Happy Friday! The first project I wanted to do was strip the doors that I got last year for my Master Bathroom. This is a messy and yucky job but it brings me that much closer to putting these doors in and that makes me happy. I've been sprucing up my outside and have been inspired by some of the fabulous outdoor furniture and weatherproof decorative objects out there. I'll share some pictures of my outdoor space with you later but for now, here are some summer inspired items that I've found.

This recipe is for a steak salad with a spicy cilantro lime vinaigrette and it's delicious.
